✨ A Dose of Inspiration
“To accomplish great things we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.”
— Anatole France

As the pace of the year quickens, it’s easy to get lost in the doing, the meeting deadlines, solving problems, and pressing forward toward goals.
This quote is a gentle nudge to pause and step back: to remember the dream that started it all.
Believe in your people.
Believe in your purpose.
And yes… believe in yourself.

🤓 A Dose of Learning
In a recent At the Table podcast episode, Patrick Lencioni and Cody Thompson remind us that trust isn’t something we build once… it’s something we practice.
Teams don’t grow strong because they avoid discomfort. They grow because they risk honesty, ask hard questions, and show up with humility.
My takeaways:
- Trust is foundational. Without it, nothing else can happen.
- There are two ways to erode trust: one is suspicion-based, the other is avoidance. Trust atrophies when it’s not used.
- There’s a subtle but crucial difference between curiosity and suspicion. The first builds trust; the second breaks it. (And don’t be fooled into thinking your team can’t tell the difference — they’ll know if you’re operating out of suspicion.)
- Healthy relationships, and teams, aren’t fragile — they can handle healthy conflict.
- Conflict without trust is politics. Trust without conflict is just artificial harmony. Conflict with trust is the pursuit of the best idea.
- Leaders must go first. Exercising trust involves risk and vulnerability, and that’s exactly what models the way for others.
When we pair belief with trust, we give our teams what they need most: permission to be real, courageous, and fully engaged.

đź’ A Dose of Reflection
Trust is like a muscle; it only grows stronger when it’s exercised.
Think about one relationship, conversation, or decision where you’ve been playing it safe… where you’ve avoided a hard conversation, stepped in without a healthy dose of curiosity, or withheld feedback in the name of keeping the peace.
What would it look like to exercise trust there this week?
- To ask a harder question with curiosity instead of suspicion.
- To open the conversation instead of closing the door.
- To listen longer and ask more questions before jumping in with advice.
Belief and trust work hand in hand. Creating the conditions where trust can grow, stretch, and strengthen is a primary job of a leader.
The more you practice trust, the more your culture reflects belief.
You got this. Let’s lead with belief.
