🧠INSPIRE
Leaders are generous learners, always seeking new ways to grow and sharing what they discover with others.
And podcasts are one of my favorite ways to do this! 🤓
Each month, I gather the leadership conversations that most pushed and shaped my thinking, some are practical, some are reflective, and some remind me why this work matters in the first place.
Here are my Top 5 Leadership Podcast Picks for January 2026, episodes that inspired and challenged me as we stepped into a new year.
Read through them individually, or spoiler alert… you can skip to the end for a curated playlist of all five!

1. ReThinking: The Keys to a Flourishing Community (Daniel Coyle)
I’ve been a fan of Daniel Coyle’s since The Culture Code, and in his new book, Flourish, he is exploring what truly makes communities thrive. It is not through slogans or structures, but through everyday behaviors that build trust and belonging.
What resonated most with me was the reminder that culture is created in small, intentional moments of connection, when people feel safe, seen, and valued. It’s a powerful invitation for leaders to focus less on systems alone and more on the human practices that make teams feel like they belong.
2. A Bit of Optimism: Matthew McConaughey on How to Fall Back in Love with Your Life
This conversation centers on rediscovering meaning, gratitude, and perspective in both life and leadership. I was shouting lots of “Amen”s and “Yes”s, especially as he was describing how getting comfortable with the uncomfortable has shaped his journey.
McConaughey’s reflections on resilience and daily practices offer leaders a gentle but important invitation to pause, reconnect with purpose, and remember why their work and their lives matter.
3. The One Thing: We Studied 400 High Achievers for 4 Months
This episode explores what actually separates people who make progress on their goals from those who stay stuck in good intentions. The idea of identifying your first domino, the one small action that creates momentum and makes everything else easier or unnecessary, is a powerful leadership move when things feel overwhelming.
Rather than working harder, this conversation invites leaders to move from busy to effective by protecting their time, energy, and attention around what truly matters most.
4. How to Be Awesome at Your Job: How Managers Can Lead Better TODAY
Ali Merchant brings leadership down to the level of everyday action. This episode is packed with practical ways managers can show up more intentionally right now, not later, not when things slow down. It’s a great reminder that leadership is built in small choices and ordinary moments.
His distinction between avoiders, reactors, and responders, and the reminder that a healthy cutlure requires having hard conversations. Trust is built when leaders pause, prepare, and approach conversations with care and clarity. Simple practices like asking permission, naming intention, and using a What–So What–Now What framework show how small, courageous conversations can create powerful ripples of trust.
5. Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcast: 5 Most Challenging Lessons I Learned in Leadership
Great leaders don’t just learn from their own lived experience, they seek out lessons from other leaders as well. It’s one of the fastest ways to accelerate the leadership learning curve.
Craig Groeschel generously shares five powerful lessons he learned the hard way. His reflections on creating margin for possibility, keeping plans flexible, and knowing when to adjust altitude and attention are leadership gold for anyone navigating complexity and change.
